Influencer Admits He Faked His Dog’s Kidnapping: ‘I Wanted to Create Entertainment’

Cyril Schreiner, a French content creator, is speaking out after faking the kidnapping of his pug, Albert.

In posts toTikTokandInstagramon Feb. 10, the influencer said he had realized over the last few days that he had "messed up badly."

About a month prior, Schreiner had rented out a house, where he staged surveillance footage that made it appear that Albert had been kidnapped, he revealed in the Feb. 10 post. And on Feb. 5, Schreiner shared apostto Instagram with his pup, where he appeared to have tears in his eyes after being "reunited" with Albert.

But the initial video, Schreiner said, was "obviously comedic," and his dog was not even involved in its creation as he used a sack of potatoes in his place. "I wanted to create entertainment," he added.

"There are things you shouldn't joke about," Schreiner admitted in his apology. "I acted stupidly, and I apologize publicly. Whether you accept my apology or not, I never meant to disrespect people who have actually lost pets. I can't imagine how horrible that must be."

PEOPLE reached out to Schreiner for comment.

The content creator — who has posted comedic videos on social media for a decade — also shared in the video that the past year had been "really difficult," noting that he had tried to keep his private life "separate from his life online."

"In recent years, what I was doing on social media pleased me less and less," he shared. "I was enjoying it less. I was making videos almost automatically."

Schreiner also dispelled claims that the stunt was intended to gain more followers or earn money: "I actually lost partnerships, credibility, and a lot of money in this situation," he said.

Hannah Wishonand her husband had been praying for twins, so when the North Carolina couple learned they were expecting twins, they were speechless.

"I was definitely in shock, but at the same time, deep down, part of me knew I was pregnant with twins even before the confirmation," the 31-year-old stay-at-home mom tells PEOPLE exclusively.

The announcement held special significance for Wishon, connecting her growing family to her own. She says her dad is a twin, and her grandmother (his mother) had recently passed away, making the news feel like she was carrying on a cherished family legacy.

Excited to share the news, Wishon immediately began planning a memorable reveal for her dad, Bill. Her parents live about 45 minutes away, and the family had planned a weekend hangout. To make the moment even more special, she enlisted her toddler son.

"I bought my son (just turned 2 years old), a shirt that said 'Big bro of twins' with a dino on it and two baby dinos in the eggshells," Wishon explains. "When we got there, I told my son to go show Papa (my dad) his cool new dino shirt."

Wishon captured her father's priceless reaction on camera. Later, she decided to post the clip onTikTok.

"POV: you tell your twin dad he's going to have twin grandkids," she captioned the post.

To her surprise, the video struck a chord far beyond her immediate circle, reaching over 280,000 views.

"I honestly had no idea it would go so viral with my TikTok being so small!" she adds. "It has been really cool to see how many people have their own twin stories."

"She's at the hospital right now!" Goldberg, 70, said, to the cheers of the audience and fellow panelistsSara Haines, Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin. "And we are wishing her the best as she waits for her baby boy to arrive."

"Yeah, it's kind of fabulous!" Goldberg added, encouraging the applause. "Welcome that baby!"

Just on Monday, Alyssa had sat atThe Viewtable, joking about howBad Bunny's Super Bowl Halftime Showperformance might put her into labor early.

Alyssa —who is expecting her first baby, a boy,with husbandJustin Griffin— was planning to begin her maternity leave after the show on Friday, Feb. 13, though told PEOPLE last week she was ready to go anytime.

"I'm due Feb. 19, but my doctor expects he'll arrive slightly early, so it's keeping me on my toes," the conservative pundit said. "I'm ready for any scenario, really."

Of course, pregnancy is nothing new atThe View.Co-hosts over the years likeHaines,Elisabeth Hasselbeck,Abby HuntsmanandMeghan McCainhave been pregnant on air before her.

"I've been really lucky and I felt really, really supported by the show," the 36-year-old said. "Everyone's used to the rhythm of it here. It's old news!"

That support at work has included contingency plans to account for a range of health-related scenarios, like discreet camera adjustments if Alyssa feels nauseous or prearranged exit routes if she needs to step off set unexpectedly — none of which, luckily, anyone actually had to use.

But the preparation has also carried over to the Griffin home, where Alyssa's bags have been packed for over two weeks now.

"Oh, we're ready," Alyssa shared. "I'm a very risk-averse person. And after going through such a difficult IVF process, and being a higher risk pregnancy to being with, I've really leaned into trusting what my doctor's best recommendations. So I just went over my birth plan with my amazing OB-GYN and feel really happy about where we landed."

"The only fear I have now is, 'Am I going to be with my husband?' " Alyssa noted. "That's something every pregnant woman deals with. 'Are we going to hop in the car together and drive into the city? Am I going to be at the studio and he's working?' Those logistics are all up in the air. But it's all going to be fine."

PEOPLE helped break the news of Alyssa's pregnancy back in October. The happy announcement came after a long journey for the Griffin, who wed in November 2021 and tried for two years before conceiving after five rounds of in vitro fertilization (IVF).

During that span, Alyssa learned she had endometriosis, a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside of it, making it harder to get pregnant. "I went undiagnosed my whole life until I started this process," Alyssa shared at the time. "So that just added to the complications."

But all the struggles, they say, were worth it — especially when they found out they were having a boy.

"I'm so excited to be a boy mom, even though I'll be outnumbered at home because we have two male dogs." Alyssa said, joking thatThe Viewco-hosts will help "balance" things out. "But wanted a boy first. I grew up with sisters, and I've always liked the idea of a big brother looking out for the younger siblings (because we both want two kids)."

That's something Justin knows firsthand. "I grew up with a younger brother, and you have a built-in best friend," he said. "Even now — my brother, he's also my business partner. He beat me to the altar and now has lapped me in the delivery room with two amazing kids. And I've got to watch him grow into this unbelievable dad, balancing it all effortlessly, which is really cool. I'll definitely be looking to him, and my own fantastic father, as an example for the type of dad I want to be."

NORTH PORT, Fla. (AP) — The Atlanta Braves added catching depth while awaiting the return of Sean Murphy by signing former Texas Rangers All-Star Jonah Heim to a $1.25 million, one-year deal on Tuesday.

Heim was with the team for the first workout with pitchers and catchers.

The Braves announced the signing of Heim and placed right-hander Spencer Schwellenbach on the 60-day injured list. Schwellenbach, whose 2025 season was cut short by abroken right elbow, has inflammation in the elbow.

Braves first-year manager Walt Weiss told reporters Schwellenbach has "bone spur type stuff" in addition to the inflammation. "It's going to be significant time he's going to miss," Weiss said.

"I always say before a season even starts your pitching depth is going to get tested. It's inevitable. You'd rather it not be right away in February."

Heim, 30, was an All-Star and Gold Glove winner in 2023, when he hit .258 with 18 homers and 95 RBIs with Texas. He hit .220 in 2024 and .213 last season.

Murphy hadseason-ending surgeryin September to repair a labral tear in his right hip. He began running on Tuesday and said he had no timetable on when he expects to be ready to play.

The Braves are expected to rely on 2025 NL Rookie of the YearDrake Baldwinto handle most starts at catcher to open the season. Heim will serve as depth, possibly allowing Baldwin to remain in the lineup as the designated hitter when he's not catching.

Murphy told reporters: "I feel good. I think we're making good progress on the hip and now we're checking boxes as we go. So far no setbacks and everything is going well."

Infielder Nacho Alvarez also worked with the catchers during the first workout.

Brian Snitker, whoretired after last seasonas manager to assume an advisory role, sat in a golf cart as he chatted with new manager Walt Weiss for the first day of workouts. Snitker will be inducted into the team's hall of fame this year after 49 years in the organization. He led the Braves to the 2021 World Series championship.

Since starting the season 15-4, in part thanks to a seven-game win streak down the stretch of November, the Los Angeles Lakers have yet to stack more than three wins in a row. They had another chance to accomplish that feat for the first time in the New Year on Monday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

With injuries sidelining reigning NBA MVPShai Gilgeous-Alexanderand 2025-26 NBA scoring leaderLuka Dončić, Crypto.com Arena featured a physical contest that included a combined 52 free throws.

A scrappy Thunder bunch, which leads the league in defensive rating for the second straight season,outlasted the Lakers 119-110, pulling away in the final minute.

Although Oklahoma City (41-13) had dropped its previous two games in the absence of Gilgeous-Alexander, who will be out through at least the All-Star break, and has looked increasingly vulnerable this season, the Thunder are still the defending NBA champions and the Western Conference's top team.

Plus, they're 2-0 against the Lakers (32-20), currently the fifth-place team in the West. More than just eight games separate the Thunder and the Lakers in the conference standings, according to LeBron James.

"That's a championship team right there,"James told reporters postgame. "We're not."

The 41-year-old James was then asked what's keeping the Lakers from joining the Thunder in that echelon.

"We can't sustain energy and effort for 48 minutes, and they can," he said bluntly. "That's why they won a championship."

James scored 14 of his 22 points in the second half of the loss. He also logged 10 assists and six rebounds. Austin Reaves, in his fourth game backfrom a calf injury, pitched in 16 points off the bench. Marcus Smart finished with 19 points and went 4 of 7 from deep.

But James, Reaves and Smart each missed a 3-point attempt in the final 40-some seconds, as the Thunder held on to win, bolstered by a clutch-time, midrange jumper by Jalen Williams that made it a 115-110 game with 51.9 seconds remaining. Williams had a game-high 23 points, most notably 10 in the final five minutes.

In James' eyes, shotmaking and 50-50 balls made the difference.

While the Lakers' defense has been criticized during the JJ Redick era, including by Redick himself, and they rank 22nd in the NBA in defensive rating this season, James maintained that defense wasn't the problem on Monday against the Thunder.

James conceded that the Lakers let Isaiah Joe get way too many 3-point looks in the first half and weren't executing their switches to a high enough level. Joe hit four 3s and scored 19 points.

"But I mean, listen, for the majority of the second half, I thought we was really good defensively," James said. "We didn't have that many lapses."

Redick was even pleased with his group's effort overall.

"I think when you play the best teams — and Oklahoma City is clearly — you know, you have to have a really high level of effort and you have to have a really high level of execution," Redick said,per ESPN.

"It's got to be both, and I thought for the most part our effort was fantastic. In key stretches of the game, our execution wasn't great."

Regardless if it's execution, effort or energy, these Lakers are too often missing a key ingredient for championship-level success. James called them out after a setback against the defending champs.

During a Q&A with his audience, Meyers was asked by a fan what it was like having his three kids — sons Ashe and Axel, and daughter Adelaide —on his showa few months back. The comedian's kids went viral in November after they joined their dad on stage during his showLate Night with Seth Meyers.

"I'm so happy about the instinct not to tell them ahead of time so they had no time to be nervous or overthink it," Meyers responded. "And it was really sudden. I literally was like, 'Okay, you guys are gonna come out. I'm going to talk to you real quick.'"

"And I didn't know how they'd react in front of an audience. And even my oldest, who is the shyest, I'm like, 'You guys are gonna come out.' He's like, 'I don't want to go out.' And Axel was like, 'Here we go!' And then Ashe was like, 'All right, all right, I'll go,' " recalled the dad of three.

Looking back on the interview, Meyers said the best thing about seeing his kids on stage was watching them be "authentically themselves."

"I love that an audience did not shake them from who they were, which was a really special thing to see because I'm like, I don't think I have that as a performer," he said. "But it was really funny, when it was over, they were walking and my son, the oldest one who was nervous, he literally grabbed my hand and was like, 'We should do this again soon.'"

Meyers' three kids charmed viewers when theyappeared alongside their dadduring an episode of his show. As the host chatted with his kids, the conversation jumped from Christmas card pictures to their recent trip to Pennsylvania, where they attended a Pittsburgh Steelers game. However, it was the kids' unfiltered answers that drew the biggest laughs from the audience.

When Meyers asked his kids how they'd arrived at the studio, his sons confidently answered "car," while his daughter insisted they had taken the "subway," catching her father — and the audience — off guard.

And when he followed up to see whether she enjoyed the ride, Adelaide delivered a line that brought the house down: "The subway smelled like diarrhea."

But the adorable chaos didn't stop there. Adelaide went on to declare Ashe her favorite brother, labeling him the "sweet" one and Axel the "rough" one. When Meyers asked if she loved her brothers overall, Adelaide made her feelings clear. "I love this one, but not that one," she cracked, while hugging Ashe.
